Pete Ramzan

Dr. Peter Ramzan, BVSc (Sydney), FRCVS

Dr. Peter Ramzan is a leading equine veterinarian with decades of experience in Thoroughbred racing, combining clinical expertise, research insight and international industry knowledge. Raised around horses in Australia’s Hunter Valley, he graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994 before gaining broad large-animal experience in Australia and the UK. He joined Rossdales in Newmarket in 1998, became a partner in 2005 and was appointed Clinical Director in 2021. His work encompasses racehorse medicine, orthopaedics, performance, and pre-purchase examinations. His expertise is internationally recognised, including through his role as a Nominated Veterinarian for the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Dr. David E Freeman, MVB, MRCVS, PhD, DACVS

Dr. David E Freeman is a UCD class of 1972 MVB graduate. He specialises in equine surgery and has a worldwide reputation in his field with countless awards that demonstrate the global impacts of his research. David is the first UCD graduate to become board-certified in the prestigious American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and the first to earn the prestigious ACVS Founders’ Award for Career Achievement. He also acts as a mentor to others in his field, and their successes are a great source of pride to him.

Dr. Pat Sells, BVSc, CertAVP, MRCVS

Dr. Pat Sells is an experienced equine veterinarian specialising in reproduction, neonatology and podiatry, with particular interests in rehabilitation and the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries in racehorses and sport horses. He also undertakes sales work, veterinary examinations and export certification. Pat qualified from Liverpool Veterinary School in 2007 with the Equine Clinical Prize before spending almost five years at Rossdales in Newmarket, where he gained his Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice and developed extensive Thoroughbred expertise. He subsequently spent five years in New Zealand providing veterinary care to Windsor Park Stud before returning to the UK, where he established a stud and racing practice at Chasemore Farm.

Dr. Jane Boswell, MA Vet MB CertVA CertES(Orth) DipECVS MRCVS

Dr Jane Boswell is a Claims Consultant for the Veterinary Defence Society. A graduate of the University of Cambridge, she completed an internship and residency in Equine Surgery at the Royal Veterinary College, attaining the ECVS Diploma in Large Animal Surgery in 2000. She subsequently joined the surgical team at Liphook Equine Hospital, becoming a partner in 2006, where she stayed for 25 years. An RCVS and European-recognised Specialist in Equine Surgery, Dr Boswell has extensive expertise in equine surgery, lameness diagnosis and advanced imaging, with a particular interest in magnetic resonance imaging. She has made a significant contribution to postgraduate veterinary education and specialist training, serving as both examiner for the RCVS and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and as a founder and director of the Vet Partners School of Equine Veterinary Nursing. She is currently President-Elect of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.
